Ho ho ho! I’m your friendly Elf on the Shelf, here to help spread holiday cheer at the library this December!
I’m not here to cause any mischief—I’m all about lending a hand and making the season extra special for everyone.
I’ll be hanging around the library starting the first weekend in December, and I can’t wait to share all the fun and festive happenings with you! You can follow my daily adventures right here on the website, and don’t forget to check the library’s Facebook page for even more holiday magic.
I’ll be with you all the way until December 19th, when I’ll have a special helper for Grinch Day who will take me back to the North Pole to help Santa get ready for Christmas!

12/6 – Goofing Around at the Library
🎄✨ 19 Days Until Christmas! ✨🎄
Hi everyone — it’s your favorite little Elf on the Shelf checking in! 🧝♂️💫
I started my morning with a good book! 📖💖 I reread Isle of Misfits: Candy Cane Culprit by Jamie Mae — one of my favorites! It’s all about a group of mythical creatures solving a Christmas mystery at the North Pole… sounds like the PERFECT holiday adventure to me! 🔍🎅
Then I made some new friends — two Nutcrackers and a Book-u-pine! 🎄🪵🦔 We played puzzles and games in the Main Collection Room and had SO much fun!
For my snack, I had a yummy Christmas cookie 🍪💚 (green icing is the BEST!). After that, my friends and I went to the Family Room window to watch the Christmas Parade. It was AWESOME! I think I even saw some of you down on the street. Did you see me?
AND I got my picture taken in the Elf Standee! 📸✨An elf posing as… an elf! 😂
Mrs. Robin said I’ve been SO HELPFUL this week that I earned a specialELF-SIZED PIZZA for lunch! 🍕💚 How amazing is that?! After lunch, my friends and I watched Frosty the Snowman together. ⛄🎬
For dinner I had a hot ham & cheese plus some vegetable soup 🍲
(You can’t see the soup in the picture because Mrs. Robin was blowing on it — it was WAY too hot for this little elf!).
I’ve been goofing off today 😄 but tomorrow I really have to start getting everything ready for the Gingerbread Man’s visit on FRIDAY! 🍪🏃♂️✨

12/4 – All Day Elf!
Only 21 days left until Christmas 🎅✨, and today was another magical day at the library… even though it was closed!
I started my day with a book 📚 — Christmas Genie by Dan Gutman. It’s about a meteorite crashing into a fifth-grade classroom in Oak Park, Illinois, and the genie inside agreeing to grant the class a Christmas wish—if they can all agree in one hour! ⏳🎁 I couldn’t put it down; it took me a while to finish because it was so good!
After reading, I played Floor is Lava in the family room 🔥🧱. I used big bricks to climb up and win the game — I’m a pro!
☕🎬 I also watched A Charlie Brown Christmas in the family room. It’s so quiet here when the library is closed… almost like my own private theater!
I took a moment to mark my calendar 🗓️—counting down the days until Christmas.
Then I got a little silly 😜. I played with Mrs. Robin’s craft supplies, covered a desk with googly eyes 👀, and made a sign that said: “Keeping an eye out.” Mrs. Robin stopped by to check on me and laughed so hard! Don’t worry, I put all the eyes back 👌—I’m a helpful elf, not a naughty one! She was so happy that she let me have lunch in her office 🍎🥪 and play on my tablet 📱.
Later, I had a blast hanging out with Curious George 🐵! We played with STEAM kits 🤖 and made robots. After all that fun, I had some tasty Chinese food for dinner 🍜🥢.

12/5 – Staying Busy!
🎄✨ Only 20 days left until Christmas! Even though the library was closed for Staff In-Service today, it was still a super exciting day here at the library! 🎁
I checked the mail and… guess what?! 📬🎅I got a special package from Mrs. Claus! She said not to open it until Christmas—oh, the suspense! 😆
I spent the day playing reindeer games with my friends! 🦌💫 We played Heads-Up!, a fun game like word charades. Our Gingerbread friend was a Teapot ☕️ and guessed it in just 4 questions—so quick!
After the games, I tidied up the coffee bar ☕️✨ and picked out a fun book to read: How Do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas? by Jane Yolen 🦖🎄 It was so funny and festive!
Then, I noticed the Days ‘Til Christmas sign still said 21… oops! I fixed it in no time ⏳✅. For lunch, I had some yummy noodles 🍜 (perfect fuel for an elf like me!). Later, I wrapped a present 🎁 for one of my elf friends—I just know they’ll love it!
I also checked the Christmas tree in the Family Room… another PERFECT SCORE! 🌟

12/2 – Elf-Tastic Fun at the Library
Ho ho ho! It’s me again, your favorite Elf on the Shelf! 🧝♂️ Only 23 days until Christmas 🎅, and I’ve been having so much fun at the library today! 📚
First, I did a little sketching ✏️🖍️—check out my reindeer art! 🦌 Then Mrs. Robin brought me some more special elf-sized books 📖🎁. I flipped through them while exploring the snowy village display ❄️🏘️ in the library hallway.
Next, I played hide-and-seek 🤫👀 with Miss Natalie. Can you spot me in the photo with the elf dolls 🧝♀️🧝 and wooden reindeer? 🦌
After that, we made a cup of hot chocolate ☕🍫 while waiting for Dominoes to deliver my lunch 🍕😋—cheese pizza, of course! That silly gnome 🧌 shared a slice with me and showed me all about bees 🐝📚—he’s really into them!
Back at my little elf house 🏠✨ on top of the graphic novel shelf, I read The Berenstain Bears Holiday Cookbook 🍪📖 for some holiday cooking inspiration 🎄🎉. Later, I colored some special elf-sized coloring pages 🎨🖍️.
Before I wrapped up, I inspected the library’s Christmas tree 🎄✨ for Santa’s visit tomorrow 🎅—and guess what? Perfect score! 🌟🌟 It’s sparkling and festive, just how I imagined! ❄️🎁💫
What an exciting day! 😄 I can’t wait to see what adventures tomorrow brings! 🌟

12/3 – Wednesday – Santa’s Visit!
🎄✨ Good morning from the library! ✨🎄
I started today reading Santa’s New Idea by Susan Pearson 📚 about toys choosing who they go to on Christmas Day 🎁🤩.
While reading, Santa called 📞🎅 — he was on his way! I made the library extra nice ✨, straightened the Books of the Week, checked attraction passes 🎫, and enjoyed apple slices 🍎 from Mrs. Robin.
Santa first stopped at the Chamber of Commerce ✂️🚂 to cut the ribbon on the Christmas train and hear kids’ wishes. Then he came to the library — WOW 😲 — so many kids! I helped Miss Laura answer phones ☎️ and check out books 📖.
While kids were busy with LEGOs 🧱, I snagged a Christmas muffin 🧁 donated by Little Debbie for Breakfast with Santa — YUM! Then I watched friends do crafts 🎨: Santa masks 🎅 and reindeer bell necklaces 🦌🔔.
After visiting Santa, he gave me a big hug 🤗 and reminded me to be VERY helpful for the Gingerbread Man (12/12) 🍪. Santa and the Gingerbread Man are friends! He also hinted at extra help for Grinch Day (12/19) 🤫🎁, but my helper’s identity is a surprise! I can’t wait!
Before leaving, Santa gave me a BIG kiss 😘 from Mrs. Claus 💖 and headed back to the North Pole ❄️🎄, stopping at the Game Shack Café to wish them a HAPPY 5th Birthday 🎉.
I grabbed popcorn 🍿, my 3D glasses 🕶️, and watched The Polar Express. Afterward, I played with the felt tree 🎄, worked on a dinosaur puzzle 🦖🧩, and the other toys and I played reindeer games like Uno 🦌🎲.
What a magical day! Can’t wait for more holiday fun 😁✨🎅🎁
11/30 – I’m BACK!
🎄✨ Elf on the Shelf in Sequatchie! ✨🎄
After flying all the way from the North Pole, I needed a little break! 🛀💆♂️
I’ve been enjoying some quiet time at the Sequatchie County Public Library—eating a yummy breakfast, exploring, and reading a fun book! 📖 Today I read: Hank the Cowdog: The Christmas Turkey Disaster.
Hank gets blamed when the Christmas turkey goes missing… but he and the ranch team work together to solve the mystery! 🐶🦃 It’s a really funny book!
Even elves need to rest before all the holiday fun begins! 🎅🏼💫 Don’t worry—I’ll be back soon to watch over everyone and spread Christmas cheer! 🎁🎉

12/1 – My First Day at the Library
Ho ho ho, friends! It’s me—your favorite little Elf on the Shelf! Only 24 days until Christmas, and I’ve been having the BEST time hanging out at the library today!
I started my morning with a super fun read: Fly Guy’s Ninja Christmas by Tedd Arnold. What a silly, festive story! After that, I set up my cozy little home away from home on the Graphic Novel bookshelf—complete with my favorite Christmas books, a picture of me and Santa, my very own stocking, and of course… my tiny Christmas tree decorated with sparkly ornaments. 🎄💫
Mrs. Robin even let me browse through all the special elf-sized books she keeps just for me! And yes… I may have hopped on my little laptop to play some games on TEL4u.org. 👀💻
At 10 AM, Mrs. Michelle was SO sweet and let me quietly watch Storytime Sprouts from the DVD case in the Family Room. I was a little nervous, but she told me I didn’t have to say hi yet. I loved listening to the singing, dancing, and stories with my tiniest friends! 🎶📖
I’m so excited for all the Christmas fun coming up this week—especially seeing Santa on Wednesday! 🎅✨

11/28 – I’m On My Way!
🎅🏼🚨 Phew! What a journey! 🚨🎅🏼
Hello from Sequatchie County! It’s your favorite Elf on the Shelf, reporting in after the longest adventure to get here! 🌟 I had to wake up before sunrise to start my trip from the North Pole.
🌅 First, I hopped on a sled pulled by some speedy reindeer to the airport—those reindeer sure know how to get me moving! 🦌💨
❄️ Then, I boarded a plane, flew across snowy skies, and even hopped on a train for a bit 🚂… but wait—there’s more!
✈️ I had to catch another plane 🛫 and then, finally, I rode in a car 🚗 all the way to the Sequatchie County Public Library!
🎄✨ And guess what? Today is November 28th, which means there are only 27 days until Christmas! 🎁⏳
Now that I’m here, I’m ready for all the fun and holiday cheer! I can’t wait to see all of you! I’m keeping an eye on things and making sure everyone is being nice! 🎅🏼😉

11/29 – My Adventure with Mrs. Robin
✨🚂 Elf’s Big Day at the Train Museum! 🚂✨
Guess what, friends? Mrs. Robin took me on a super special adventure today at the Tennessee Valley Railroad Museum! I got to see EVERYTHING — trains, lights, and tons of Christmas magic!
I even got to have a yummy dessert with Mr. Jeff (FYI: elves love treats! 🍰✨), say hello to Santa, and check out all the beautiful decorations at the Grand Junction Depot. It looked like a Christmas wonderland!
And the best part? I got to be the official ticket holder while we waited for the train. I held it so carefully—no elf magic needed! 🎫😉
Since it was a grown-ups-only event and no kids were on board, Santa gave me special permission to move around and explore the train. What an adventure!
Can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings!

I just wanted to send a quick note before I board my big flight from the North Pole to Tennessee tomorrow, Friday, November 28th! ✈️❄️➡️🌄
I’m sooo excited to come back to the Sequatchie County Public Library and see all of you again this year! 📚💖
I’ve been packing up all my elf-sized clothes and goodies… but um… I think I overpacked a little bit… 😅🧦🎁 Oops!
Don’t worry—my tickets and itinerary are all set, so this elf is travel-ready! 🎫✨
But before I could tuck myself into bed, I had to clean up a tiny mess I made (double oops!) 🧹🫧
Can’t go to sleep with a messy house, you know! And remember—I’m a HELPFUL elf! 💪🧝♂️
No mischief, no pranks, no chaos—just helping out at the library all season long. 📚🎄✨
I’ll be landing on Friday, taking it easy on Saturday 😌💤, and getting all geared up on Sunday for the magical month ahead!
